Hilary and Margaret running the Fairtrade Stall

St Peter’s is a Fairtrade Church. This means that we have committed ourselves to

  • use Fairtrade tea and coffee for all Church meetings;
  • move forward on using other Fairtrade products (such as sugar, biscuits, fruit);
  • promote Fairtrade during Fairtrade fortnight in March, and through other activities wherever possible.

On the first Sunday of the month, from 10am-1pm, St Peter’s runs a Fairtrade stall at the Farmers’ Market which is held in Wolvercote Primary School (opposite the Church). If you would like to find out more about this stall and how to help with it, please contact Lorna Logan on 01865 556486 (or lornlogan@fsmail.net).

The four churches of our Summertown-Wolvercote Church Partnership (St Peter’s, St Michael’s in Summertown, Summertown URC and Wolvercote Baptist Church) also have a Make Poverty History Group, which works actively to promote Fairtrade in the shops in Summertown and Wolvercote. More details about this group are on the Church Partnership pages, under Shared Activities.
