There is no easy way to lose someone. The death of a loved one is such a difficult time, and at St Peter's we are here to help.
Anyone within the parish has a right to have their funeral at their local church, regardless of church attendance or not. As well as offering a service here in church, we can lead the funeral for you at a local cemetery or crematorium. We also have a garden of remembrance where ashes can be interred. Funerals are always arranged with a funeral director, and we can put you in touch with a firm who will support you professionally and sensitively.
We can provide an organist for you and have an audio-visual system which permits us to play recorded music.
We will always spend time with you to make the funeral as personal as possible and provide ongoing pastoral care after the service.
If someone is nearing the end of their life, the vicar and other members of our ministry team are very happy to spend some time with them and to pray with them. We consider it a privilege to accompany and support those approaching their death, and their loved ones.
Whatever we can do to support you at this difficult time, please be in touch, either directly with the vicar, or through the parish office.
