Who's who

Our church is supported by many dedicated volunteers who help our worship, mission and outreach to run smoothly, maintain our buildings, manage our finances, and provide welcome and hospitality. They are too many to list, but we are phenomenally grateful to all of them. 

This page details some of the people in particular roles who you may need to contact. 

Revd Kate Tuckett (Vicar – on maternity leave from August 2024): Kate was licensed as our vicar in September 2021. She came to us from London where she was a vicar in Harrow, previously working in church communications at Christian Aid and The Children’s Society, and as a book editor. Kate is married to Russell and they have a young daughter. When she's not working she enjoys singing, gardening, cooking and keeping fit. Tel 07410 978921. Email vicarwolvercotewytham@gmail.comRevd Liam Cartwright (Interim Minister): Liam is covering Kate’s maternity leave, and joins us from the Cowley Team Ministry, where he has been a curate. He trained for ministry at Ripon College Cuddesdon and was ordained deacon in 2022 and priest in 2023. Before his ordinations he enjoyed a career as a professional organist, choral conductor and church musician. He is married to Hannah, and they have a son. She is responsible for a range of administration and publicity tasks crucial to the effective functioning of St Peter’s ministry and mission in Wolvercote. She previously worked in publishing and is also a freelance editor. In her spare time, she enjoys cinema, theatre and attending sci fi / fantasy conventions. Stacey Van Dyk (Children's and Families' Leader): Stacey arrived in Oxford from Canada in 2016, along with her husband Tim, to pursue a doctorate. Their daughter Eleanor was born in 2017. Stacey has spent more than a decade pioneering and rebuilding ministries to youth and young adults in Canada, Eurasia, and South America, and has served as a lay minister in various churches for 15 years. She was a member of the congregation at St Peter's before starting as Children and Families' Leader in December 2023. He worked in academic publishing for over 40 years and is now focused on calligraphic work. He is a trustee of The Commonwork Trust and Chair of The Crafts Study Centre and The Irene Wellington Educational Trust. Edward has been a Church Warden at St Peter’s since 2018. Chantal works as a compliance manager at Cambridge University Press. She and Aaron love exploring, taking road trips around the country wherever possible. Val Tate (Deputy Church Warden): Val joined St Peter’s shortly after moving to Wolvercote in 2008. She has been an active church member since then, and chairs the Communications Group to support outreach within and outside the congregation. She is also Chair of the Wolvercote Young People’s Club and enjoys Japanese Taiko drumming. He was formerly Director of Music at St Helen’s Abingdon, and continues to chair the Abingdon Music Festival Committee. Chris is conductor of the Oxford Studio Orchestra, the Wantage Orchestra and the Wheatsheaf Consort, and is in demand as an organ recitalist and percussionist. Ministry team

Revd Viv Bridges (Priest with permission to officiate): Viv is a long-standing member of St Peter’s and served for a time as Church Warden. She was ordained Deacon in September 2005 and subsequently as Priest. Although she is now retired, Viv continues to be an active member of the Ministry team. Tel 01865 558705, Email vivpbridges@btinternet.comRevd Joanna Coney (Priest with permission to officiate): After completing her curacy at St Peter’s in 1997, Jo became a member of the Oxford Diocesan Training Team. In 2004 Jo retired – and then became the Diocesan LLM Adviser (Warden of Readers). In 2008 she retired again.  She lives in Lower Wolvercote and so has returned to St Peter’s as her parish base. Jo is a member of the Third Order of St Francis. Having received God's call to ministry, Shei trained at Ripon College Cuddesdon before serving her curacy in the Osney benefice. Shei continues her connection with Cuddesdon, currently serving as Chaplain. She has a son and two daughters and loves meeting new people and travel, particularly to holy places. Revd Carol Kimberley (Priest with permission to officiate): Carol moved to Wolvercote in 2021. Before her ordination in 1989 she worked as a teacher and counsellor. She has spent all her ministry in rural parishes, in both Oxford and St Albans dioceses, as well as twice being an area dean. She is enthusiastic about young people, enjoys music and birdwatching and has two grown up children. He worked for over 30 years in IT before retiring in 2012. He was licensed as an LLM in 2008 and enjoys preaching and being one of the team.  His interests include music and anything to do with space missions. Tel 01865 507133, Email lordkimberley@gmail.com Dr Tony Lemon (Licensed Lay Minister with permission to officiate): Tony has worshipped at St Peter's since 1979, before which he spent ten years as a Methodist Local Preacher, and is authorised to preach, lead certain services and share in the pastoral care of the congregations. Revd Dr William Whyte (Associate Priest): William came to Oxford as a student and never left. He’s now a fellow of St John’s and full-time professor of social and architectural history. William was ordained in 2006, and served as a priest in Kidlington before joining the St Peter’s team in 2017. He has two sons, Nahum and Jacob, with his wife, the historian Zoe Waxman.
