Giving to St Peter’s

“6 The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.”
— 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

St Peter’s ministry is only able to continue thanks to the generous gifts of many people. We need your financial support.

We need approximately £400 every day to maintain and run our church’s ministry, providing support for our parishioners, children, families and outreach activities. We are very dependent on regular giving and generous donations.

We are grateful for anything you can give, large or small.

Regular giving

One of the important ways that each of us lives our faith and participates in the mission of the Church, is through the act of giving. While there is joy in the spontaneity of a one-off gift when the Spirit moves us, it is regular giving that offers a prayerful expression of faith in action. Regular giving sustains our church and helps us to plan for the future. This is why St Peter’s is a member of the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS).

The PGS makes it safe and easy to give, and for your church to receive, with Gift Aid. Every pound donated can be put to immediate Christian service in your community, free from time-consuming administration for church staff and volunteers. There’s also an option for increasing your gift annually, keeping pace with the rising cost of living, but with the peace of mind that you can adjust your donation at any time if circumstances change.

Three easy ways to donate through the PGS

Set up a direct debit online

Tax relief when donating to St Peter’s

Donating through Gift Aid means St Peter’s, as a registered charity, can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. It will not cost you any extra. To do so, you need to complete a Gift Aid declaration.  Your donations will qualify as long as they’re not more than four times what you have paid in tax in that tax year (6 April to 5 April). The tax could have been paid on income or capital gains. You must tell us if you stop paying enough tax.

Download a Gift Aid declaration form. Send the completed form to St Peter’s Gift Aid Officer, Prof R Eatock Taylor (see form for contact details).
