St Peter’s has a ring of six bells in the tower and has an active band of ringers. The team ring for the 10am Sunday Service, for weddings and funerals as requested, and for some other special services and events.

If you are interested in ringing you may like to come and try their dumb bell simulator. The first of its kind to be adapted so it is portable and can be unfolded and set up ready to ring in less than 10 minutes. Although it is made from timber the bell handles like a normal bell but its construction means it is safer and less easily broken, making it ideal to use with learners, whilst once attached to a laptop and projector, using ‘Abel’ a computer program to electronically produce the sound and project a team of virtual ringers onto a screen, it is also an ideal tool to help ringers progress.

As well as ringing, Wolvercote Ringers enjoy many social events and have also been known to zip wire teddies out of the bell tower for the Church Fete.

Thursday is practice night. Handbell ringing is from 19:00-20:00. The ringing simulator is used from 19:30 - 21:00. Tower bell ringing is from 20:00 - 21:00.
