A very warm welcome to St Peter’s Wolvercote website

St Peter’s is here to serve our local community of Upper and Lower Wolvercote, and the area around the north Ring Road - all part of our far flung and slightly fragmented parish!

Above all we want to be an inclusive and friendly church family, welcoming all regardless of age, culture or lifestyle.

We hope you find the information you need here. If not, please contact the Church Administrator or call 01865 236094.

Our next vicar

The parish is in the process of appointing a new vicar to continue the ministry of The Revd Charles Draper, who retired last July. Interested candidates are invited to click here for information, and encouraged to explore this website and that of All Saints’ Church Wytham to find out more about us. We much look forward to hearing from you if you decide to apply.

WORSHIP AND PRAYER - IMPACT OF COVID-19

As we have moved into Tier 5 government COVID-19 regulations, the churchwardens have taken the difficult decision to close St Peter’s for all services and private prayer with immediate effect (5 January 2021). Online services are available (see News). This decision has not been taken lightly but is considered necessary to protect those coming into our church, and the local medical services which are in danger of being overwhelmed by rising levels of infection.

Although willing to continue with services the clergy have supported this decision and remain available for pastoral support. Contact us if you would like a member of the ministry team or our Children and Families Worker to be in touch.

Stay in touch through our weekly e-newsletter. If you’re not already on our mailing list, register here.

We are here to listen and help if you are worried or upset about something that’s happening, or has happened to you or someone you know. Go to our dedicated Safeguarding page.

St Peter's Wolvercote and All Saints' Wytham together comprise the Benefice of Wolvercote and Wytham. St Peter's is one of five Churches in the Summertown-Wolvercote Church Partnership.
